My diabetes doctor, my heart doctor, and my kidney doctor wants me on Ozembic. I am so afraid of it, but I am also having problems. I don't know what to do.
I want to reiterate that these are very rare side effects. As Christine said, I would ask the doctors about the risks and benefits of the drugs, the research they are basing their recommendation on (I'm happy to help you look this over if it's helpful) and other options (for example, if you were thin would they recommend different treatment(s). I know Ragen and others have talked about informed consent. Have your doctors presented all the pros and cons fairly so you can make a reasonable decision for you? Have they offered you options? I wish you luck with your decision.
Thank you for listing the FDA Adverse Events Reporting System! I went to take a look because I was confused about how the total cases for Semaglutide could be smaller than the serious cases. Indeed the numbers were as you reported - fewer total cases than serious ones. This was not true for the overall database numbers, and not true for Tirzepatide. Any idea how that "total cases" number is lower than the "serious cases"?
These are solid T2D drugs and side effects like those above are very rare. I'm not a doctor but I would suggest that you pay attention to how your body feels, stay in contact with your doctor about side effects you are experiencing, and work to make sure that your doc takes any side effects seriously. Gastrointestinal side effects are very common, especially at the beginning and at each dose escalation but you are the one who determines if they are tolerable for you.

Never mind. I don't know why I read that as 13,181 rather than 31,181 OOOPs! Good morning!
You cannot talk about these meds online without almost immediately attracting apologists. It is insane!
So what can I do to maintain vigilance? Also My doc just decided to prescribe one of these for my T2 diabetes. Now I’m scared.
