Problem is even people who see the problem frame it as "all those fat people's fault", that if we're not willing to discipline ourselves to starve and exercise obsessively and willing to take pills to " avoid the work" we deserve what we get. And of course, the failure of the pills,as with all weight loss methods, is due to us secretly gorging on junk food when no one is looking and lying about our behaviors. Because there is no way that weight loss just doesn't work and fat people turn to desperate measures like liver-melting pills due to desperation to end the constant bigotry they experience. Because that would mean they weren't nobly bullying fat people all these years "for their own good", they were just bullying.

I did Noom in 2018, because my partner needed knee replacement and needed to get below a certain BMI. Lost 30 kg in 18 months by going essentially on a 1800 cal diet and exercising my ass off - she lost 15. I gained ~40 kg back by 2021 (had an accident on 2020 that put me on crutches for several months) and her knee replacement turned out botched; she’s worse than before and gained ~20 kg back. We both quit after a year or so.

Back then it wasn’t $120 a month though - more like $70 a year or so. If that’s really what they take now, it’s outrageous. Most of their “psychology” is outdated, and in terms of personal coaching, they mostly rely on bots and peer support. 0/10 - would not recommend.
